Two Vehicles Collide in Silver Heights Saturday Night
Charles D. Lane, 20, of Silver City struck the rear of a pickup driven by Richard D. Brooks, 23, of Gila, as Lane tried to turn off Silver Heights Boulevard onto Silver Street. Lane sustained an eye injury and was cited for failing to control his vehicle. Patrolman Henry Andozoja investigated the 6 04 p m collision with two passengers in each vehicle.

WU Student Escapes Injury In Weekend Accident

Optimists Seek Town Backing for Silver City Youth Center
Representatives of the Optimist Club met with the Silver City Town Council to discuss backing a youth center project. The club may apply for an $80,000 federal grant to renovate and open the center with two thirds of funds from the federal government and one third locally raised. The town would back the project for 20 years and hold the deed during that period while the Optimists raise the local share. The council will study the proposal and decide later.
