Skylab astronauts show mixed reactions after launch tests
After returning to a lab from the carrier deck the Skylab crew faced uneven recovery. Conrad performed nearly as well as before, while Weitz and Kerwin showed dizziness and blood pressure changes during stress tests with inflatable gear and a heart rate drop on a bicycle test. Medical officials saw no permanent disability and anticipated no impact on upcoming flights. Researchers will study weightlessness responses to guide long space missions using data from this and two more flights.
