Four Names Added To NM Traffic Toll
The Associated Press reports four more fatalities in New Mexico traffic tolls. A 3 year old boy and a 65 year old man from Lubbock Texas died in a one vehicle crash 12 miles west of Santa Rosa on US 66. The elder Mojica family car occupants, including Julian Mojica and Emilio Mojica Jr, died. Also killed was 35 year old Bobby Gene Belford near Hagerman after a collision with cattle on NM 31. Injured were Georgia Skinner and others. A 21 year old Las Vegas man Charles Hilton Jr died from injuries in a June accident near Wagon Mound.

Chicago Police Battle Rioters For 2nd Night
Police fought with over 1,000 rioters in Chicago's Northwest side second night of violence. Seven Puerto Ricans were shot and wounded and 37 were arrested as looting and street clashes continued near Humboldt Park. A Tribune reporter and several others were injured. police used warning shots and night sticks to disperse the crowds.

Smoking and Fires Restricted in Gila National Forest
ALBUQUERQUE AP The Gila National Forest restricts campfires and smoking due to fire danger. Southwestern Regional Forester William D. Hurst said restrictions start Wednesday. Smoking in moving vehicles allowed only on surfaced roads with ash trays.
