In Pittsburgh AP report Rich ard S Wright 23 of Orange City Iowa a teacher. While driving with his arm around his girlfriend she kissed him. A patrolman fined him for reckless driving. He ripped the ticket and threw it away. He was charged with littering then apologized and the littering charge was withdrawn. He was released on 50 dollar bond.

Train derailment injures about fifty near Templeton Iowa
About 50 persons were injured when the east bound City of Los Angeles passenger train derailed two miles west of Templeton Iowa. None seriously, with 17 admitted at St. Anthony's hospital in Carroll and about 30 treated as outpatients. The five diesel units plunged into a 15 foot embankment into a cornfield. Uninjured passengers were taken by bus to Sacred Heart School in Templeton for breakfast.

Forest Fire Burns 20 Acre NC North of Silver City
A forest fire burning about 20 acres was sighted just before dark Saturday, four helitac crew were flown in, and eighteen men fought the blaze Sunday morning aided by seven loads of slurry. It was likely lightning caused in rough terrain with brush and heavy timber. Five fires have occurred this year in the Gila National Forest.
