Navy Finds Major Flaws In FJ4 Fighter Testing
Navy testimony to a House subcommittee disclosed 43 major defects found in FJ4 fighter test models including 16 safety related issues. Repairs underway with most aircraft to be ready for testing this summer. Also 78 minor problems noted with the F14 while Phoenix missile system deficiencies numbered 10.

Private Holguin Assigned to Fort Ord Training Program
Private Robert M. Holguin, 20, son of Mr and Mrs Robert M Holguin Sr of Bayard, is enrolled at Fort Ord California under the modern volunteer army program. The 16 week basic and advanced training includes unit level instruction and reduced formations with more off duty time and improved living facilities. He began with Company D 4th Battalion 1st Brigade in June and will complete the first phase on August 4 after graduating from Cobre High School in 1972.
