Ip Council Sets Evacuation and Demolition for Public Safety Build
The Ip Council met in City Hall at 7 p m and voted to evacuate property on the west side of Hudson Street between 10th and 11th Streets. Bids were authorized for removal or demolition to clear the lane for the Public Safety Building. The north end of Kentucky Street to St Marys Academy was discussed and the closing denied. Two project contracts arrived for a downtown high grade maintenance street program, including a cooperative type agreement.

Grant County Denies Tyrone Townsite Precinct Change
At a July 1 special meeting the Grant County Commissioners denied a petition by 84 Tyrone Townsite residents to detach from Silver City and join the Tyrone precinct citing four month rule. The decision leaves boundaries unchanged unless changed by legal process.
