MRS LORENE THREEPERSONS DIES IN SAFFORD ARIZONA
Loren Threepersons a former Cliff Gl community resident and Silver City contributor to the Silver City Daily Press and artist died in a Safford rest home after a month of hospital care. She was of Cherokee descent and active in civic and church affairs. Surviving husband Tom Threepersons two sons Glenn and Ben Nichols daughter Lucile Ricketts four grandchildren and one great grandson. Funeral Wednesday at 3 pm in Safford Funeral Home chapel with interment at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Vehicle Fire Damages No Schoolhouse After Crash
A vehicle driven by C. G Miranda struck the Pinos Altos schoolhouse at about 1 25 a m Saturday and caught fire. The Silver City Fire Department was dispatched but returned after the driver extinguished the blaze. No damage to the schoolhouse. Sheriff deputies investigate the accident cause.

Driver Injured In Auto Crash On Cooper Street
Jose Antonio Lopez 21 of Santa Rita was hospitalized in good condition with a facial injury after his 1968 sedan left Cooper Street and struck two parked cars. One owner is Freddie Ybarra of Tucson and the other Edwardo Jaramillo of Albuquerque. He was cited for careless driving by Silver City police.

Jimmy Martinez Hurt In One Car Accident
New Mexico state police reported that Jimmy Martinez was taken to Hillcrest General Hospital with possible head injuries after a one vehicle crash. His car left Highway 90 about 21.9 miles south of Bliver City and struck a tree. The 1961 sedan was a total wreck and investigation continues. Martinez was listed in fairly good condition today. Officer Leonard Martinez provided the update.

Unoccupied House Burns In Central Central
An unoccupied house burned to the ground Sunday evening in Central marking a second blaze at the structure. Fire Chief Manuel Lucero said the department fought the fire from 9 45 p m to 11 35 p m on Bellm Street. Traffic congestion and parked cars hampered efforts and could trigger citations from police and fire officials if the issue persists.
