Mrs Kenneth Whitmire attended funeral services for Adam Whitman at Trout Creek Cemetery Friday afternoon. Whitman died at the home of his daughter Mildred Williams in Devil's Pocket between Buna and Deweyville. Mr and Mrs Roy McFarland and three children visited her parents Henry Inman at Hemphill on Mother's Day.

Buna High School will hold baccalaureate on May 24 at 11 a.m. in the Buna High School auditorium with Rev. Raymond Drews delivering the sermon. Graduation exercises are set for 8 p.m. May 25. First Methodist Vacation Bible School runs May 25 to 29 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. for ages 4 to 11.
