Collier's Hardware burglarized. pistols and TVs stolen
Burglars forced a restroom window at Collier Hardware Friday night stealing three television sets and several pistols from a display case. Owner Richard Collier reported the loss occurred between 12 and 1 AM. Deputy sheriffs Ira Moore and Dale Smith investigated. no arrests had been made by press time Wednesday.

Youth Carolers Sing Through Rain in City Event
In a Community Christmas Caroling event despite heavy rain, 35 youths sang across the city to Deck The Halls. They rode a single bus between locations, ending at First Baptist Church for a Friendship Circle led by Rev. Bobby G Roberts, with cookies and hot chocolate served. The interdenominational effort was sponsored by the Silsbee Ministers' Fellowship.

A Jasper County Road District 7 bond election near the Neches River failed to pass. Voters required a two thirds majority. total 125 ballots were cast with Evadale 75 for and 32 against and Cherry Grove 4 for and 14 against. The vote hinged on a split Jasper County Court, with two commissioners opposing and three voting to hold the election.

N A Cravens, chairman of the county Savings Bonds Committee, said eleven month sales total 202954 and that 74 percent of the 1958 county goal of 275000 has been reached. Funeral services pending for Mrs Hl G Bevil of Beaumont former Silsbee resident killed in a two car collision at Sixth and Long streets in Beaumont Tuesday noon. Three Are Fined In County Court 18 Arrests Reported
Three men pleaded guilty in county court this week with two for drunk driving and one for aggravated assault. Cammie Washington of Silsbee, 10, fined 100 dollars and 90 days in jail for aggravated assault after resisting arrest and seizing a pistol. Barney Lee Ainsworth and Paul Harrison each fined 200 dollars and three days in jail for driving while intoxicated. A total of 18 arrests were reported at the jail by deputy Dave Rountree, including aggravated assault, drunkenness, vagrancy, and multiple DWH and traffic offenses.

Fireworks Stand Fire at Ponder’s Service Station
An exploding fireworks stand at Ponder's Service Station near the junior high drew Silsbee volunteer firefighters Tuesday around 4 PM. Mrs. Frank Ponder, inside the metal shack, said she could not explain the sudden explosions. Firemen quickly doused flames and prevented most fireworks from detonating. she was frightened but unhurt.
