Three Drunk Drivers Fined in Kountze Court
Three men Ronald Burdett Port Arthur William P Williams Beaumont and Fred Grimes Galveston pleaded guilty in county court at Kountze. They were fined 50 dollars and costs and three days in jail each with one man also paying 25 dollars and costs for driving with a suspended license. DWI convictions bring six month license suspension. A total of 20 arrests that week were reported by county officers. Alvin E Powell 21 of Port Arthur faced burglary charges for Cochran Grocery theft after being found in a car stolen from Gulf States Utilities. The old Kirby doctor's office in Silsbee was burglarized with two fans taken.
