Funeral services for Eugene Flanakin 37 of Kountze were held at 2 30 p m Sunday in the First Baptist church of Silsbee with pastors E E Castilan and R F E Barclay officiating. A Justice of the Peace ruled death by self inflicted gunshot wound and a .22 rifle was found at the scene. Survived by wife Mildred one daughter Barbara Ann Womack and numerous siblings. Burial followed at Klemett? cemetery under Pace Wells Funeral Home.

Fast Draw Artist Defers To Experts After Accident
Lynwood Jones, 21, son of Ester Jones of Silsbee, was injured when a misfired fast draw with a .22 pistol at Village Creek struck the back of his thigh and slid toward his knee. He and a friend Jay Wingfield were sketching the stunt when the hammer slipped. Jones underwent surgery at Hardin County Hospital to remove the bullet and is expected to recover without complications per Dr. W. J. Poshataske and Mrs. Jones.
