Experience Key To Quail Hunting This Fall
Larry Gale of the Conservation Commission says experienced quail hunters with good dogs will have the best season. He notes more vegetation, later nesting due to heavy spring rains, and possible smaller total quail crop but expect to top the million mark. Delaying shoots on young birds to December may yield better targets. Last year about 78,000 hunters bagged around 1,350,000 birds.
