Southwest Bell to Add Long Distance Circuits in Region
Southwestern Bell plans five all weather long distance circuits between Charleston and Sikeston by mid November with a second group of seven joining in February 1933. After spring upgrades, Sikeston Cape Girardeau and Sikeston Memphis routes will route through the Bell System coaxial link with many poles left for future rural use.

Dorothy Andrews and Dorothy Willm resigned effective November 28. Willm will move to Kirksville, Andrews to Wisconsin after Thanksgiving. Improvements noted include painting Lincoln School office and corridor, eight new study tables in Agriculture Building, buses equipped with signals and first aid kits, and an extra afternoon bus from Airport to Hornbacks Grove and through Smith Addition. Heating engineer DF Hyde reported furnace conversions are satisfactory. barometric dampers shipment received and installation planned next week. John H Harwell Dies in Poplar Bluff at 76
John Houston Harwell longtime Butler County official died at 5 30 this morning at Poplar Bluff Hospital in Missouri. Survived by wife Daisy and several Harwell relatives in Poplar Bluff Kennett and Gulfport. He served as County Assessor, County Collector, and Presiding Judge of Butler County Court for 16 years. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in March 1950. he was 76 and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

George Lile died November 14 at Barnes Hospital in St Louis. Born February 14, 1878 in Missouri, he left three children and a host of relatives including Harris Lile of Stresa, Mrs Barres Jores of Siskeption, and several others.
