Cadets Attend Comrades Rites At Indiana Funeral
Twenty six cadets from the Missouri Institute of Aeronautics attended the funeral of Flying Cadet Dean Walter Cooper 21 held in Lafayette Indiana after a fatal crash at the north auxiliary field eight miles north of Sikeston. Cooper born January 2 1920 trained at Purdue before joining the school and was to graduate May 30. Flying Cadet Reed Cody Owens survived with minor injuries.

Registration Day Is July First in Scott County

Plans for a full renovation of the South grade school were approved by the Sikeston Board of Education. The janitorial staff will perform the summer work under maintenance engineer G. C. Duncan, including lighting upgrades, four drop cords per room, new shades, flooring overhauled in sections, new exterior doors with panic bolts, and an interior repaint.
