Farmer Survives Tractor Accident Near Bloomfield
Rex Williamson, 28, of Bloomfield, was knocked from a moving tractor by a tree. A wheel ran over his head causing a broken jaw, broken ribs, and facial cuts. Rubber tires saved his life. In a separate incident near Poplar Bluff a car overturned after a two year old grabbed the wheel. Mrs Mayfield and Wanda Casey were injured, child unharmed.

Poplar Bluff Child Killed in Driveway Accident
Three year old Ronald Dale Mallady, son of Mr and Mrs James Mallady of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday after being struck by a car in a driveway near his aunt’s home. State Highway Patrolman Herman Hocker said the driver did not see the child. Funeral services will be tomorrow afternoon.

City Engineer Named In Monday Session
Limon Harrison was appointed to the post at a special meeting of the city council held Monday night. Yarrmisen will not be paid a stated salary but will serve on the council as planned. The council passed an ordinance amending bills for the obease of unpaved streets and heard from Ropes A Dempster of a local firm about the changes being legally warranted. The meeting also considered an ordinance to allow property owners to pay for severance of substandard streets, but further drafting was deferred. A notice announced a surge in city automobile license sales with 100 licenses sold this week and a year-to-date total of 1567.

Tragedy in Charleston Ends Family Quarrel with Triple Killing
A St Louis man shot his wife and her brother in law then killed himself in Charleston. Victims are Virginia Mae Banks 24 Dan Watson 46 Eshel Kindred Banks 36. Mrs Zelma Watson wounded but expected to live. Children Edward 8 Estell 6 unharmed. Banks had threatened divorce and burned home. Police and sheriff responded. Banks died on arrival at hospital.
