The Sikeston International Shoe Company plant delivered 1198 9800 pairs of navy oxford shoes out of 200000 on a three and a half month contract for sailors. The batch met navy specs in leather and design though 12 pairs short. Factory foreman expects further orders to keep 600 workers busy.

Locally assessed railroads and other corporations valued at 118,875. total personal property 2,499,915, up from 2,475,461 last year. Figures certified by the County Clerk and sent to the State Tax Commission in Jefferson City and may be reviewed by the Commission and by the County Board of Equalization meeting the second Monday of July. Coral Sutherland Hurt by Mower at Hart's Bakery Site
Coral Sutherland 506 Kendall was rushed to Mississippi Delta Community Hospital around 3 o clock yesterday afternoon for emergency treatment after a lawn mower kicked by the operator while still running chewed his shoe and severed the second toe. He, an employee of Hart's Bakery, received seven stitches and remained about an hour. hospital records list the injury as a compound fracture and severe laceration.
