Trucks Collide Here Wednesday Morning
A Chevrolet pickup driven by Charles White of Miner collided with an International pickup at the Tanner street and Highway 61 intersection yesterday at 10:00 am. White planned to turn left while the Tennessee truck tried to pass. The out of state truck overturned, ejecting a mule. neither vehicle was badly damaged and the mule was unhurt. Marvin Pack of Yorkville, Tennessee, drove the Tennessee truck with Clem Young. both occupants reported no injuries.

The long debated wage hour bill received final congressional approval and will start an unprecedented federal program to regulate industrial hours and minimum pay for 750 000 workers with 1 500 000 more exempt. An administrator will set initial 25 cent minimum, rising to 50 cents, and a 44 hour week, then 42 and finally 40 hours, with overtime pay. Seasonal workers may be employed up to 56 hours weekly before overtime.

Scouts Prepare For Annual Camp Lewaller

A landslide between St Marys and Ste Genevieve last Saturday delayed Frisco train service for nearly seven hours as six to eight inches of dirt washed down a 100-foot bluff over a two mile span. The southbound passenger train arrived at eight o clock instead of 1:28 PM. Passengers were redirected across the hazard and later returned to original trains. Engineer W W Malloy of Bismarck drowned in the incident area and fireman P McAull of Poplar Bluff was rescued after hours in flood waters.
