Full Force of Nature Sealed in Tiniest Seed
A fragmented piece explains seeds as living packets containing a plant and nourishment, capable of growth under right conditions. It mentions ancient viable seeds from a thousand years old found in Washington DC gardens and traces seed viability to oxygen needs and long‑buried origins. Separate wedding notices list many local couples wed by various ministers in Sikeston, Cape Girardeau, and nearby towns.

Rooms and apartments in demand for new workers
Chamber of Commerce officials urge local residents to list empty rooms or furnished apartments for rent to responsible people. With the Southwestern Bell building modernization bringing about 50 new workers and professionals to Sikeston, a housing shortage grows as many cannot find suitable furnished units. Beaird notes the chamber will refer inquiries to reputable real estate firms and will not conduct rentals themselves.
