Sikeston School Board of Education appoints Bert Cohoon to head the Vocational Agriculture Department and the Institutional on-the-farm Training Program for Veterans. Cohoon, a Southwest Missouri native, holds a BS in Agriculture and MA in Education from Missouri, previously taught in Poplar Bluff and Brunswick, with a notable Campbell, Missouri record where the local FFA earned 4500 in prize money. Scott county schools are set to receive 1323 dollars from the state after a long legislative battle. Liquor seizure funds from Cairo in 1950 led to the money being earmarked for district education.
