Farmers Act on Wheat Subsidy Repair of Rates Cited
Lyman Bowman of Scott County Milling says farm groups civic clubs corrected unfair soft hard wheat subsidy differentials. Protests in June reduced the gap to within one cent per bushel, narrowing a December 1034 cent gap that grew to 13 or 14 cents by spring. The move allows grain interests to pay farmers at least 18 cents more per bushel for soft wheat than before.
