State Commander to Attend AMVET Convention

Woman killed in auto train crash at Highway 60 crossing
Mrs Zeta Mae Haynes a 28 year old Sikeston Negro woman was instantly killed when the car she rode in was struck by a Frisco southbound freight train at the Highway 60 crossing on Malone Avenue near Sikeston early Monday. Her husband Roosevelt Haynes and sister Miss Ollie Mae Wilson were in the car. Wilson was injured. The car was demolished and Mrs Haynes was thrown and crushed near the tracks. Wilson was treated at Sikeston General Hospital and Cairo Hospital for severe head lacerations and leg injuries. the Haynes car was removed from the tracks by Limbaughs Garage. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Sunset Addition. Survivors include mother Mrs Viola Blue and two daughters Earley Mae Haynes and Mrs Nathanial Mack, all of Sikeston.
