Pvt. John F. Todt, 21, former Sikeston resident and Sikeston High School graduate of 1941, has been missing in action in the European theater since January 17. He served six months and has been overseas with General Patton's Army for two months. Todt is the son of H. E. Todt and former Miner area residents now of Beniston Alabama. his sister Mrs. John Layton and another sister Mrs. Carl Schorle are named, with Schorle's husband at Randolph Field Texas. He was a classmate of Emanuel Schorle Jr., a Marine killed in the South Pacific.

Sikeston residents learned on Thursday of American service men freed from a Luzon Japanese camp. Tech Sergeant Stanley F. Wallace, brother of Carl Banks Wallace, was confirmed as rescued. Wallace served since 1941 in Manila. captured in 1942, he has sent only a few brief messages since. Other Sikeston men believed captured include Jimmy Derris James T. Griffin Charles Branum and Fred Boyer.

Scouters from Canalea Matthews Miner Morley and Benton join Sikeston leaders to rally volunteers led by captains listed. A companion Boy Scout Sunday February 11 features an 8 45 AM flag raising in American Legion Park a Bugle call Oath Law and Cub Promise followed by church attendance and a Radio Court of Honor broadcast on KFVS 2 30 PM.
