Complete plan to try war criminals signed in London
A master plan for the mass trial of Germany's arch war criminals before an international military tribunal was signed in London by representatives of the United States Great Britain Russia and France. The document grants the tribunal sweeping powers to punish by death deprive the convicted of stolen property disregard technical rules of evidence for speed and to prevent delays. The permanent seat is Berlin and the tribunal will have four members with alternates representing the four powers.

Cool Weather Ends Intense Heat Wave
After a week of stifling heat Southeast Missourians saw a break this week as highs fell well below 100 degrees. The morning read 54 degrees while last Thursday’s high reached 101 before the cool spell began. The week’s temperatures stayed below 75 each day and a slight warming trend with possible showers is expected over the next several days.
Two Day Showing Atrocity Pictures In Sikeston
An exhibit of 25 large atrocity photographs will tour Missouri and Illinois towns including Sikeston August 10 and 11. Sponsored by The Sikeston Herald Sikeston Standard and the St Louis Post Dispatch the display opens Friday at 1 pm and runs to 11 pm both days with free admission.

Explosives Dumped At Sea From Germany In War Effort
