Dexter resident Andrew Frank Asa 80 died at home Tuesday. Born December 74 1674 he moved from Hhnn to Dexter as a young man and lived there until death. A 32nd degree Mason and member of Masonic Lodge 332 he worked at the State Treasurer's Office in Jefferson City retiring in April. Survived by wife Ber tie Asa three children Marion Chicago Orville Ivn Fort Lauderdale Rita Steffy Columbus six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. At the Tuesday Jaycee corral night at the Country Club the club discussed the upcoming third annual Bootheel Rocco rodeo. The Jaycees voted to purchase a complete set of buck-out chutes and holding pen equipment to avoid prior difficulties. Mark Childs announced Levi Strauss and Co. sent three award certificates for top contestants and Harris Drug Store will present a prize belt buckle to the champion. Jake Weaks Jim Goodwin and Kenny Salters were introduced and welcomed as new members.
Funeral services for Theodore Roosevelt Johnson 33 of this city who died Monday afternoon at Sikeston Hospital will be held at Gray Ridge Baptist church at 2 pm Thursday with Rev Henry Jordon officiating. The body will lie in state at Watkins Funeral Home until services and after 2 30 pm today. He was born Oct 16 1890 near Woodbury Kentucky and moved to Gray Ridge at 17. He married Grace Tucker in 1920. He is survived by his wife two sons Clifton and William A both in US Army at Colorado Springs three brothers Clinton Detroit Martin Flushing and S E Johnson Boonville a sister Effie Haynes Harviell and three grandchildren.
Funeral services for Clarence Stewart Stuckey, who died from gunshot wounds, will be held Thursday at 2 pm at Unity Baptist Church on Highway 55 near Benton. Rev Lawrence Maupt will officiate, assisted by Rev Ernest Punch. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Charleston.
