The State Highway Patrol linked two grain warehouse robberies at Farmers Grain and Buckeye Plantation. Lyndall Muler, 19, of Sikes ton, admitted involvement in the first crime and implicated partner Lige McGill, 30, of near Blodgett. McGill was jailed at Charleston. Miller was released on bond. A truck with distinctive tire marks connected the cases. high-grade seed was stolen from both sites. McGill has prior trouble with the Patrol.

Road Improvement Contracts Let in Missouri
The Missouri State Highway Commission announced low bids to build about 50 miles of roadway with bids totaling roughly $700,000 financed mainly by Federal Aid. Appellate Court Sets May 26 For Smith Case
The Springfield Court of Appeals set May 26 for the Smith case appeal over the parole revocation of former County Clerk J. Sherwood Smith. Prosecuting Attorney Wilkerson and Benton attorney Ray Lucas argued the demurrer. Smith contends Judge Kelly lacked jurisdiction after disqualification and a special judge heard the case. Smith pleaded guilty to embezzlement in 1937 and was paroled after grand jurors recommended it.

He posted $500 bond and will be tried in the August term of Scott county circuit court. Sam Austin of Memphis was fined $37.05 for reckless driving after colliding with Wm Linville of Cairo. he also paid Linville $55.20 in damages.
