Kennett Man Escapes Fire At Frisco Depot Trailer
L W Taylor of Hart's Bakery sighted smoke at Frisco Railroad depot in Kennett about 3 50 a m and woke O A Plunk who escaped his burning trailer. The blaze damaged a loading platform a trailer and trucks. investigators suspect an electrical cable under the platform. Fire crews fought the blaze amid cotton lint blown from gins across the tracks.

The Scott County Republican meeting at Benton elected delegates and alternates to the Cape Girardeau district convention on April 20 and to the Kansas City state convention on June 4. Tanner C. The county convention adopted no resolutions and the delegates will attend uninstructed.

Four minor injuries in four area traffic mishaps
Hiway Patrol reports four traffic accidents in the 14 county area with only minor injuries and no fatalities. In one incident at Lilbourn Junction a car forced off the highway but no injuries occurred. A second collision near Charleston involved L J Grubbs with minor injuries. A third crash near Birds Point involved a tractor and a dust cloud. no injuries or arrests were reported.
