The Statehood Mines owner headed to New York to raise funds to settle obligations and resume mine operations. Jury commissioners include Max L. Kabler W C Tompson and Gabino Sedillo. Isadoro Martinez and Louis Flores arraigned on carrying deadly weapons charges with Martinez pleading guilty and Flores not guilty.
Notice from the Department of the Interior Land Office at Las Cruces New Mexico dated May 9 lists Joan B Mont and others as claimants seeking proof of residence and appropriations for a land tract described under a meridian. Rafael Jaramillo of Engle New Mexico filed for a homestead entry for the SWY section 85 township 118 range 4 west Fifth principal meridian. Proof of residence and filing date April 18. Clerk Hawes of Sierra County Hillsboro will convene the final hearing and public inspection.
