A Hillsboro New Mexico resident Mrs Nellin Murphy receives a consoling note after her house fire. The letter commends her for having Firemans Fund Insurance through agent G P McCorkle and promises prompt payment by mail.
The President signed a proclamation adding 228 156 acres to the Gila National Forest and removing similar areas along the east and southeast boundaries. The additions include steep canyons and pine stands, while the eliminations cover the Cactus Flats and Bear Mountain regions. Readjustment period until March 1, 1911, to avoid hardship for settlers. land remains closed to settlement until further Interior Department notice.
