One Year Sentence For Tried Shooting Of Ex Wife

Boxing Bout Ends Early in One-Sided Fight
Fitz gerald of South Omaha dominated the fifteen round bout at the opera house. Spectators urged a stoppage in round seven due to visible gore, but Condin insisted he could continue. The fight ended in round eleven with Condin groggy and the referee stopping the bout. Fitzgerald escaped punishment aside from a battered nose.

Late reports indicate a strike on all Harriman lines will be called once the presidents of the shopmen international unions set the day and hour. The order is at local unions, with 35 000 workers including machinists boilermakers car repairers and manufacturers sheet metal workers and blacksmiths to be affected.

A Jolly Bunch of Boosters
At five Wednesday evening the North Platte Boosters arrived with the Sidney Military Band and North Platte’s band and Indian. Guests bought ice cream with souvenirs, then dined at the Vienna Restaurant. A street concert followed and many Sidney citizens attended a boxing exhibition at Tobin's Opera House before the visitors departed.

Widow Sues Union Pacific for $50000 in Lincoln
Mrs. Ella Huxtell, widow of engineer Fred J. Huxtell, sues Union Pacific in district court at Lincoln for $50000 damages. Huxtell, killed at Sidney on New Year’s Day, was ordered to move from the roundhouse to an engine amid a snow storm. He was fatally struck by a switch engine after slipping on ice at a water crane.
