The changes include higher charges for business and residence lines and a move from magneto to common battery service. Rates take effect after improvements cost about 76,000 dollars are completed, with a plan to upgrade the city’s system.

Health conference to aid children in Sidney fair week
Miss M McNair field nurse with the state division of child hygiene will hold a child health conference in Sidney during the county fair on September 29 and 30. Mothers can have their children under six years examined free of charge and receive private guidance on care and feeding. Local doctors and dentists will participate with a schedule of sessions each morning and afternoon, from 9:30 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 3:30.

Former Gurley young woman dies at Gothenburg
Hazel Shelley Ackerman, formerly of Gurley and Cheyenne county, died Saturday September 17 at her Gothenburg home after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Monday at Gothenburg Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran cemetery. Survived by husband John Ackerman, parents Mr. and Mrs. John Shelley, one brother Everett and five sisters Armenia Genevieve Maxine Leroy Wilson Harold Campbell. Relatives from Dalton and Gurley attended the service.

Death of Dalton Child Interment Here Sunday
Funeral services were held at the home for Catherine Kallhoff four month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kallhoff of near Dalton. She was born May 19 1927 and died of enteritis on Monday September 19. Rev Tschida of Dalton officiated at the home and Rev Link of Sidney at the cemetery. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery east of Sidney under the direction of Srl W Wright of Sidney.
