A bold robbery on a Tuesday night at Big Springs Nebraska along the Union Pacific line saw fifteen masked men seize the express car and passengers, stealing $1800 in cash and four watches while gold coin losses totaled $65,000. Telegraphs were cut and restored as the robbers fled on horseback toward the north. Officials offered a $10,000 reward for captured bandits and returned money, with authorities pursuing suspects widely from Cheyenne to Omaha.
