Farmers Know What They Earn
Records from Cass county farmers under the extension service show the five best earn 81 cents for every dollar spent while the five poorest gain 43 cents. Increased livestock units per man, efficient horse labor, and larger crop acreage plus rotation with alfalfa and sweet clover and bigger investments explain the wide profit gap.

Velvet Cleaning Instructions From Lincoln Agricultural College
Velvet that is dusty or crushed may be renewed and used again by any housewife. Brush the velvet with a soft brush to remove the dust. If more cleaning is necessary, immerse the velvet in high tear gasoline and brush it gently with a soft brush. Rinse it carefully and bang it up to dry. To steam the velvet, turn a hot flat iron upside down and cover it with several layers of damp cloth. Pass the velvet right side up over the steaming cloth, moving it constantly and gently brushing the nap with a nett brush. Work quickly and do not allow the velvet to become wet. Do not touch the right side of the velvet before it is perfectly dry.
