Nuclear shelter water and sanitation guidelines
In a shelter plan, individuals would need at least one quart of daily water plus more for washing, with rationing possible for 14 days. Stored and in-tank water can be used, plus purified sources if necessary. Steps include straining, settling, boiling or using purifying agents, and careful food and waste handling to prevent disease. Special emergency toilets, sanitation, and shelter exit protocols follow, based on OCD In Time of Emergency guidance.
