New Fish May Develop Into Real Linkers
Ogallala Nebraska anglers may get genuine sport fishing in a few years as 2000 fingerling striped bass were shipped from California with 1235 released into Lake McConaughy and 169 held for study. The test, using plastic bags with water and oxygen, showed promising results and follows successful transplants in California and the Carolinas. Striped bass migrate to spawn in fresh water and can reach 4 to 5 feet, 50 to 100 pounds, with similar markings to white bass but a distinct shape.
