Desperate escape amid desert tunnel deepens mystery

Kelleen, wounded but alive, discovers a hidden tunnel in the cliff and enters the ancient Alvara mine. He kills a shadowy man, who turns out to be Manuel Gomez, the infamous ape-man bandit. Gomez lies dead, while Meager and Sanchez close in, and Deborah Meredith remains missing in the perilous cave.
