The recent harvest shows a severe farm labor shortage as farmers, offering up to 3.50 per day, find little local response. The Northwest demand is high, yet travelers and passengers remain silent, with causes ranging from city lure to farm drudgery.

Proper farm planning boosts yields and trims labor

The article argues for coordinated farming, early rising coupled with planning, and strategic silo placement to save time and energy. By treating farming as a business, using modern equipment, correct barn layout, and crop rotation, workers' earnings rise and labor shortages ease.
