Aged Resident Richard Williams Dies in Sidney
Richard Williams a long time Cheyenne county resident died Tuesday at his home on West Second street at age 76 after years of illness from strokes. He lived in California and Sidney, farming near Peetz and south of here, leaving a widow and three children. Funeral plans awaited word from California relatives with Howard Funeral Chapel directing arrangements for burial in Sidney Cemetery.

August Matthes of Alton and his brother Frank Matthes of Wisner visited Cheyenne county to oversee their wheat harvest on land they own on the north table. Accompanied by Miss Hayes and Miss Bramer of Wisner they then traveled to Laramie Wyoming to visit relatives. The Matthes brothers are prosperous eastern Nebraska farmers, mainly in corn and livestock, owning substantial acreage in the county northwest of here and reporting a good crop despite wet weather and harvest delays. Frank Matthes of the Potter area is a son of August Matthes.

Vocational School Added To Course At Sidney High
Pre opening registration in the Vocational Agricultural department of Sidney high school is very encouraging and indications are that this will be a popular course with classes filled to capacity. Prospective students from forty miles out of Sidney have shown interest and will register when school opens. The new vocational agriculture building nears completion and will be ready for occupancy when school begins on Tuesday September 6. Courses will include farm mechanics carpentry crop production and soil management with others to be added as progress is made.

Potter School Board Adopts Oil-O-Matic Burner

Farm specialist unveils weed killing machine in Kansas field

St Pauls Lutheran Christian Day School opens September 6 in a modern building. Enrollment is expected to be good as the only protestant day school in the city with four in Cheyenne county. Miss Ida Bandomer will teach grade work while the pastor handles religious subjects in upper grades.
