Frances E. Knox 94, longtime Sidney and Cheyenne County figure, died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Services held at The Craig Mortuary with Rev. John Stayton officiating. burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Survived by son Victor, two granddaughters, four granddaughters, and a grandson. Knox, born March 21, 1868 in Iowa, earlier served as county superintendent, Telegraph writer for 21 years, and active in the Methodist Church and Eastern Star.

Dalton man Joseph Heizer dies at 72
Joseph Heizer, 72, a longtime Dalton resident, died at about 9:30 a.m. today in Pioneer Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services will be at Dalton Presbyterian Church under Craig Mortuary direction. Heizer, born in Mexico, Missouri, moved to Dalton in 1915 and worked as a farmer, at Heizer Grocery, and as a school custodian until retiring in 1958. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, two daughters Mrs Ralph Harrison of Mitchell and Mrs Joe Kaehler of Scottsbluff, a son Edwin of Sidney, three sisters, one brother Harvey L of Dalton, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
