New State Rebekah Head To Be Honored By Dix Lodge

Mrs. Russ Mewhirter was installed as president of the Nebraska Rebekah Assembly at a Lincoln session on Oct. 7. A banquet and reception at Dix High School on Nov. 9 will honor her, with tickets $2.50 and reservations due by Nov. 1. Local members also installed and invited friends and members of the Rebekah Lodge and Odd Fellows.

Veterans Day program planned in Peetz

The American Legion and Auxiliary meet in Peetz Legion Hall on Oct 21 to plan a Veterans Day program at the schoolhouse on Nov 11 at 8 00. Mrs Walter Schumacher chairs the refreshments and members bring cupcakes. Gifts for Ft Lyons are to be delivered by Nov 20. The meeting also covers calendars, district conference, rides, and other community activities amid funeral notices for Mrs Ted Sindt.

Local residents return home after hospital stays

Mt. Vernon residents Frank Klentz left Western Nebraska General Hospital after four days and C. L. Walters returned to Scottsbluff hospital for major surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald McMillan also were noted as homeward bound from the hospital stay.
