Destructive Wind Blows Caboose Off Track at Lone Tree Hill

A sudden fierce storm on Monday at Lone Tree Hill near Sherman Wyoming toppled a Union Pacific caboose from a way car into a 25 foot embankment. Thirty nine aboard. two killed instantly and the rest injured. A stove in the caboose worsened the peril.

He praised the order and noted social features worthwhile and expected to boost local lodge memberships. Afterward Ladies of the Degree of Honor hosted a lodge gathering with refreshments and further speeches. Barton is a candidate for State Auditor and is expected to win broadly in Western Nebraska.

School Notes from Denton Crowe Visit and Local Events

Denton C. Crowe spoke to the high school Tuesday for a entertaining fifteen minute talk. Wm Allery of the seventh grade died prompting floral wreaths and a funeral attendance by two grade levels. The Garbe Howe entertainers are set for November 18 while Sam Jones lectures were praised despite rain and ditches.

County District Aid Report Shows Need For State Help

Superintendent Ritchie reports for old law aid 42 districts with 417 children seek 4619 dollars though need totals 10013. Four more districts may qualify under new law, one in the south end and three in the north. If improved law passes, county needs 11100 dollars. Also personnel changes note Brown resigns as clerk. Sharmer becomes clerk. Local ads note Selz shoes at Oberfelder's and baby carriages at Einsig's.
