A noon Friday prairie fire swept from Jack Willis ranch ten miles northwest of Higgins. It destroyed thirty five tons of hay on Andy Ladine’s place and wiped out Henry Bartling’s range and fences. A warrant was issued against W Wiley’s outfit for alleged carelessness but Justice McFadden ruled the fire origin and cause could not be proven.
