Delegates met at Sidney courthouse to nominate a full county ticket. Officers appointed to organize, names given for delegates to state convention, ballots held for sheriff and coroner, with Laing and Paine leading in several rounds. Sidney precinct selected its own ticket and central committee named for year.
The Cheyenne County Independent party met at White House hall and listed candidates for County Judge A Vease County Clerk A G Chapin Sheriff P Loony Treasurer Joseph Sharmer Coroner W F Moore Superintendent of Public Instruction Mrs J F Shelton Surveyor W F Paine Commissioner R J Cowdin Assessor Pierre Sanders Justice of the Peace R Shuman E J Sweet C Stone Road supervisor Henry Eckart and precinct officers with secretary J O Neil. Also brief notes from Lodge Pole correspondence and local notices including juror recruitment and a memorial for John Shaerplielt.
Cheyenne County Democrats meet in Sidney at the court house on October 18 to organize delegate conventions. They nominate three state convention delegates and county officers including county judge F. H. DeCastro clerk J. McIntosh treasurer C. D. Essig and nominate sheriff candidates J H Coughlin W L P Eubank and N C Stone after several ballots. The report of credentials is approved and the temporary organization made permanent. Adjournment follows with local notices on ranch activity and upcoming lodge instruction.
