CDP Helps Pre-School Disabled Kids In Sidney

Educational Service Unit No. 14 in Sidney expanded services for handicapped children under five through a Title VI grant. Seven last year or currently enrolled, eight students now attend CDP classes, with six from Sidney and others from Dalton and Chappell. The program assesses each child in speech, hearing, and physical domains and emphasizes self-help skills to prepare for regular schooling.

SEA to Host School Board Candidates Forum

The Sidney Educator's Association plans an open forum for school board candidates on Monday Oct 18 at 4 30 p m in the Senior High Auditorium. Telegraph to begin series on Social Security benefits

Nearly one million dollars a month flows to six southern Panhandle counties in Social Security before monthly benefit totals. In Cheyenne County 1,873 residents receive 361 489 dollars. The Telegraph reports these figures from Scotts Bluff district office and will start a weekly Social Security questions series Monday.

WNTC Names Four Appointments to Staff at Sidney Campus

Western Nebraska Technical College in Sidney announces four staff changes led by Dr. Charles D. Michael. Ron Monheiser is acting dean of students, Gary A. Green becomes director of placement and industrial relations, Dennis Hicks is director of athletics and intramurals, and Jan Welch joins the business school teaching personal finance and introduction to business. Welch holds a UNC degree from 1966 and previously taught Gurley High School.
