Brakeman Falls To His Death After Train Accident
Fred H. Munson, a brakeman, fell from a freight train between Perdue and Chappell at about 8 30 Wednesday evening. He crawled away after mangling injuries, was brought to Sidney and St Andrew s Hospital where amputation of the right leg was tried but he died from the shock. His headquarters were at North Platte, his mother s home is Clinton Missouri, and the body was shipped there yesterday.

Burglar Captured and Sentenced
A man named Jess Oxley was captured in Sidney Draw after burglaries at J. J. Lipska's homestead and about six ranches. He confessed to burglary and was held to district court, later sentenced to 1 to 10 years in the state penitentiary. sheriff transported him to Lincoln.

Death of Cyrus Henry Reed Former Evans Resident
The Evans Colorado Courier records the funeral of Cyrus Henry Reed held at 2 pm on Wednesday October 4. Reed, born June 27 1844 in Penbroke Massachusetts, served in the Civil War, moved across Minnesota Nebraska and settled in Cheyenne County before coming to the local town in 1904. He leaves a wife and two daughters and was praised as a principal factor in community character and moral uplift.
