Obituary notes the death of Alpheus Pease on Friday October 11 at 11 30 am after an ulcerated ankle and stomach hemorrhage. Born October 2 1836 in Vermont he lived in New York Canada and Sidney where he built, ran a lumber yard and later a mercantile business. He served as county judge and treasurer and was known for public benevolence. Survived by a widow and four grandchildren. funeral at his residence Sunday at 10 am conducted by Rev James of the M E church.

Daniel Kelley at Rest in Sidney Nebraska
Daniel Kelley died at his Sidney home on a Wednesday due to pulmonary trouble from a lung abscess. Born in Nebraska City he moved to Cheyenne county in 1885, lived near Lorenzo, then near Sidney, and finally in Sidney town. He was a respected worker, husband, father of two surviving daughters, and a Modern Woodmen member with insurance. Funeral conducted at the Catholic church with burial in the church cemetery east of town.

In a special election on Tuesday, 103 citizens voted in favor and 14 opposed waterworks and public enterprise. The board will immediately begin steps to install a water plant, seen as a credit to the town and a satisfaction to residents. The decisive result signals better days for Sidney.

One Year For Burglary
Judge Grimes held a special term to sentence A. K. Barr for burglary at the Burlington eating house in Bridgeport. Barr pled guilty to stealing $14 from L. E. Bishop and was sentenced to one year in the penitentiary after a cautionary talk from the judge.
