The Cheyenne county fair at Sidney drew large crowds as exhibitors from Colton, Lodge Pole, Potter and Fort Sidney showcased crops, livestock, poultry and crafts. Gen. Cheyenne County Considers Union County Creation Proposal
The Cheyenne county commissioners on October 3 1887 ordered a public vote at the upcoming November general election on forming a new county named Union from Cheyenne territory. Listings of polling places across many precincts and the proposition to erect the county were announced for the vote on November 8 1887.
