Hermit Lewis Davis Found Dead After Lying In Squalor
Lewis Davis aged sixty four was found dead Tuesday beside his bed in a cave like homestead a mile south of the Dye post office near the Kimball county line and close to the Colorado border. He had been sick since Saturday and lived alone in extreme poverty with no company. Beal of the Buchanan ranch, who was to be a final proof witness, discovered the body when he answered a call. Sheriff Litton and Attorney Radcliffe investigated. death appears from natural causes, about two days old. The body was brought to Sidney for burial, with W P Davis of Osawatomie Kansas arranging transport.
