H. E. Bauman was named commander of Sidney post No. 17 of the American Legion at the regular meeting Tuesday night. He succeeds A. D. Greenlee, who was commander for last year. Blaine Grabill was elected first vice commander, and Douglas Boyd, second vice commander. J. W. Nielsen was advanced to adjutant. Attorney Paul L. Martin was chosen executive committeeman, Chris Hanson sergeant at arms, and A. H. Offey service officer in the other selections. The post will join with the state Legion in forming a vigilance committee to safeguard local banks against daylight robberies in Nebraska. Machine guns will be secured and placed in the possession of experienced men.

Salesman Widely Known Here Dies
Ralph Walter Andersen aged 28, traveling representative of the Nebraska Culvert company, died at his home in Gering after a short illness. Born July 1, 1902, in Beatrice, he was a Beatrice graduate of the 1920 class and studied at Lincoln Business College. He married Ruth Pauline Armand on September 30.
