The Battle of 1808 and Sound Money Unity
A clipped editorial argues for delaying Democratic reorganization until currency issues are settled and warns against dissolving the national unity formed to resist inflation. It notes President's likely support for stability and cites Nebraska tax statutes and a county treasurer’s notice promising distress warrants for nonpayment of personal taxes after January 1, 1897. The notice, signed A. Pease, seeks voluntary December payments.
