County Loses Case in Supreme Court
The Nebraska Supreme Court ruled against Cheyenne County in a suit over county deposits with state banks. The decision mirrors the Anselmo case, limiting guaranty fund liability for excess deposits beyond half a bank’s capital. Cheyenne County will sue former treasurer Myrtle Lancaster and her bondsmen to recover $22,500, with $25,000 covered by the state guaranty fund.
